Free iPhones
This may have been the single most important thing Apple announced today. iPhones no longer cost money. A 3GS can be had for free. Remember, at the beginning of the talk they gave the iPhone’s market share as a percentage of all mobile phones. Not just smartphones. This was why. Dumb phones have officially been marked for death. If a non-geek goes into a store to re-up their contract and the iPhone 3GS is free option, why on earth would anyone *not* pick that?
